Session Support Assistant (Casual)
Role
The Wild Mane Project is looking for a calm, competent and reliable person with horse experience to assist during pony sessions and outdoor activities.
This is a casual role, helping when sessions are running. The role involves working around ponies and supporting participants during activities in an outdoor setting.
The role involves

Assisting during pony sessions with children or adults

Leading ponies during activities
-
Helping set up or pack away equipment
-
Supporting safety during sessions
-
Keeping an eye on participants during activities
Sessions take place outdoors in the field, so you must be comfortable working outside and around horses.
Requirements

Confident and competent handling ponies or horses

Calm and sensible around animals and people
-
Reliable and aware of safety at all times

Able to help with practical tasks during sessions
An Enhanced DBS is preferred, or you must be willing to apply for one if continuing in the role.
Trial session
Suitable applicants will be invited to attend a short paid trial session so we can see how you work around the ponies and with participants.
Pay
Casual hourly rate depending on experience.
Hours
Sessions run occasionally, mainly evenings or weekends. Hours vary depending on bookings.
