School Access Support

At The Wild Mane Project, we understand that not every child or young person accesses learning, support, or education in the same way.

Some children may need support returning to the classroom. Some may benefit from longer-term outdoor provision. Some may be home educated, accessing alternative provision, or simply need space to rebuild confidence, connection, routine, or to find their own true self-esteem.

We believe every child deserves to feel heard, included, and supported as an individual.

Our work supports children and young people through outdoor experiences, practical activity, wilderness living skills, fun experiences, and time with the ponies. Sessions are built around connection, trust, and helping young people feel capable in themselves without pressure to fit into one path or expectation.

We work alongside families, schools, and Local Authorities where appropriate, while keeping the focus on the individual child or young person, listening to their voice, and supporting what works best for them.

Support may include:

  • Building confidence and communication

  • Supporting school reintegration where appropriate

  • Outdoor learning and shared activities

  • Practical and employability skills

  • Teamwork and social connection

  • Routine and responsibility

  • Time with the ponies through grooming and interaction

  • Bushcraft and wilderness living skills
