Supported Transition Programme
What This Programme Is
The Supported Transition Programme is Wild Mane’s structured individual placement designed for young people requiring contained support before entering small group provision, or where group participation is not currently appropriate.
It provides a safety-led, professionally overseen environment with defined goals and formal review structure.
It is delivered on a minimum four-hour per week basis with two staff present.
Structure

We recommend a minimum 4 hours per week, in intervals to suit the child, but this depending on the child and package. Please ask as we can accommodate.

Activities

Activities are individualised but structured. They may include:

One-to-one equine groundwork

Supported mounted sessions where appropriate

Gentle introduction to Wilderness Living Skills

Supervised tool use at capability level

Personalised responsibility tasks

Regulation and grounding exercises

Nature observation and documentation

Small practical build projects

Gradual supported integration into small group tasks
All activities are risk assessed and capability-based.
