Every activity and interaction at Wild Mane is grounded in therapeutic purpose. Even when sessions feel relaxed or playful, each moment is designed to support regulation, confidence, communication and meaningful progress.
Therapeutic Developmental Streams
Every session balances time to settle and feel safe (being), opportunities to learn through movement and hands-on activity (doing), and gentle reflection that helps experiences make sense in everyday life (thinking). This blend supports steady confidence and emotional understanding without pressure.
Emotional Intelligence – Intrapersonal
We help people notice how emotions show up in the body, recognise what different feelings mean, and find their own ways to stay regulated through challenges. Horses respond honestly to emotional signals, giving immediate feedback that supports awareness, coping, and resilience.
Emotional Intelligence – Interpersonal
Working together with horses and peers encourages communication that is calm, respectful and clear. Participants learn how their behaviour and body language affect others, building empathy, boundaries, and trust in relationships at a pace that feels comfortable.
True Self-Esteem Domains
Meaningful responsibility, purposeful tasks and small achievements help people build a positive sense of self. We support self-worth rooted in experience, helping participants feel valued, recognised and capable both here and beyond Wild Mane.
Regulation Approaches
Whether through movement, co-regulating with a horse, grounding exercises or quiet focus outdoors, we support people to find strategies that help their nervous system settle and stay steady. These tools give participants the confidence to manage strong feelings in everyday life.
Developmental Behaviour Schemas
People naturally explore the world by lifting, connecting, building, transporting and balancing. We use these instinctive patterns to support coordination, problem-solving, and physical confidence, learning that is felt through the body, not forced through instruction.
Multiple Expressions (Intelligences)
We recognise that intelligence is not one thing. People can be practical, creative, relational, reflective, physical, or nature-led learners. Often a mix. We design activities that let every individual succeed in their own way, celebrating strengths that are not always seen in classrooms.
